OSHC - After School and Vacation Care program
Welcome to McLaren Vale Primary School Outside School Hours Care.
The McLaren Vale OSHC staff would like to welcome all families & children to our service, which operates from our Activity Room, situated between the Junior Primary Building and the Madge Sexton Kindergarten.
The service is committed to providing a safe nurturing environment; where children have rich learning opportunities to learn through play, develop life skills and friendships and have fun!
Our OSHC space underwent a transformation during 2106 with a “natural theme”, and a range of new spaces for the children to utilise and explore.
Whilst attending OSHC the children have access to the computer room, library, gym, outside play either on the oval, asphalt, Adventure Playground as well as the new Nature Play space.
Homework/quiet time happens at 5:00pm and this has proven to be popular with parents.
Our afternoon tea menu fits with the Australian dietary guidelines and also Element 2.2.1 of the Framework which states, Healthy eating is promoted and food and drinks provided by the service are nutritious and appropriate for each child. We have a strict NO NUTS policy in OSHC.
Costs are:
(Permanent Bookings) Before School - $14 session & After School - $24 session. This is the maximum fee as many families will receive a rebate through the Child Care Benefits Scheme.
(Casual Bookings) After School Care - $29.00
Vacation Care - $50.00 (Early Booking) & $55.00 (Late Booking)
Excursions - $15.00
Incursioons - $8.00
Student Free Day - $55.00
A late fee will apply if children are collected after closing time - $1.00 per minute.

OSHC TEMPORARY LOCATION
From Monday 22nd June OSHC will be temporarily relocating due to building works for our new extension. This means that vacation care will be in different areas of the school for the July school holidays. When dropping your child off in the morning, we will be in the kitchen area across from the current OSHC Room. Access will be from the doors facing the oval. In the afternoon, we will be in the kitchen until 4.00pm, and then after that time we will be in the gym. Our OSHC staff always have a UHF radio with them so if we are in a different area when you pick your child up we can always be contacted. Please Note: There may be a small disruption to our phone line as we settle into our different spaces. Please use the OSHC email if you need to contact us. Access to Kitchen and Gym due to the builders setting up their site compound on the basketball court nearest the carpark, access will be limited. The walkways around the current OSHC building and the verandah area will all be out of bounds. It is suggested that parents park on Caffrey Street to do drop off and pick up as this will be the easiest access to either the kitchen in the morning or gym in the afternoon. We are aware that this will be an inconvenience for a time, but the outcome at the end will be an amazing new space for our children and families. Thank you for your understanding.
