McLaren Vale Primary School is situated on the western edge of the township and currently caters for around 550 students from Reception - Year 7.
A 'Zone of Right' exists for the school with priority of access given to students living within the zone. The zone is a defined area surrounding the school from which the school accepts its core intake of students and is one way schools can manage enrolment pressure.
Please note: McLaren Vale Primary School is currently at capacity, including the Reception intake for 2019. As such, we are not taking enquiries for out of zone enrolments. Families are instead encouraged to contact their local school.
Refer to the map below for the McLaren Vale Primary School zone:
If your child turns 5 years old before 1st May, they can start school on the first day of Term 1 of that year.
To enrol your child in Reception at our school, registrations open from April of the year prior to starting school. Please note that we cannot accept registrations earlier than this.
The total intake at Reception is capped at 76 students and students living within the zone have priority of access.
Places are only offered to out of zone families if there are places available once the in zone places have been filled. Places are then offered according to distance from the school.
Orientation visits for the Reception intake are held every year in mid-November. Kindy children are divided in groups of approximately 20 students and attend school for 2 x 1/2 day sessions. An information session is held for families on the first visit.
